Fun facts about Hebrew

Hebrew is written from right to left and traditionally doesn’t include any vowels, although vowels can be indicated by small dots above and below the consonants.

English words borrowed from Hebrew include: cherub, hallelujah and shalom.

Speaking modern Hebrew helps you understand a lot - but not all - of Biblical Hebrew, like speaking English helps you understand a lot - but not all - of Shakespearian English.
