The Italian for good luck, ‘In bocca al lupo’, literally means ‘into the wolf’s mouth’. It's important to respond to this with ‘Crepi il lupo’ (may the wolf die).

A popular Italian tongue twister goes 'trentatré Trentini entrarono a Trento, tutti e trentatré trotterellando', which means ‘thirty-three Trentonians came into Trento, all thirty-three trotting'.

'Ciao' can mean both 'hi' and 'bye'- and for 'bye' you can also double it to 'Ciao Ciao'!
