Fun facts about Punjabi (Pakistani)

Punjabi is the most widely spoken language in Pakistan, spoken by more than 40% of inhabitants mainly in the Eastern Punjab province. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has given interviews in Pakistan Punjabi. §

Punjab translates to ‘five waters’, the Bea, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej.

A famous Punjabi poet from the 12th and 13th century was called Baba Farid Ganjshakar meaning 'treasure of sugar' because of his sweet use of the language.
